I am back from my three week trip to Argentina just in time for the world premiere of Paradise Waits. I was filming for an Atomic Airtime webisode for 2 weeks at SASS global travel camp. Before the 2 weeks of debauchery that comes along with the SASS crew I was with Smith Optics shooting for the catalogue at Baguales Mountain Reserve.
I got to ski with Ian Macintosh and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa which was fun because I didn't link up with them all season (not since some pre-season days at Alta and Jackson Hole).
The mountain reserve was at 1700 meters, so we were way up in the mountains, away from the Internet for 3 days. Here I took a photo of Sage taking a photo of the sunset that we both posted after our trip. Below is a photo that Sage took of me throwing a 3 in the cat-skiing zone.
The sunset was one of the best I have seen, equally as amazing was the night sky that we viewed from outside our cabin.
After the cat trip, I said farewell to the Smith crew and linked up with Galen Knowles to start filming... and then it started snowing.
Snow and snow (and steak) and that was the story for the next two weeks with good friends. We built some of the classic jumps on Cerro Catedral, but they were new to me even after two previous trips to this same resort. I am happy that the SASS guides showed us around because every time I come here I learn more about this resort, which is close to the same size as Mammoth Mt. back in the States.
It is so much fun to hit winter in both hemispheres I recommend it to anyone who hasn't had the experience.
Thanks to my sponsors Atomic, Saga Outerwear, Smith Optics, Hiball Energy for supporting my summer skiing habit. It takes a lot of effort and airport time, but it's so worth it!
Keep following the Atomic instagram for teaser clips from the upcoming episode this fall.
