The greatest part of being in Utah is the proximity to the mountains and the desert. The rugged vastness of the southwest has an enticing brutal beauty. Naturally we sought to take advantage of it and so we went in search of the sun, the grandeur, the ancient, and for us; the single track.
We loaded up some rad bikes from White Pine Touring in Park City, UT and hit the road south. This is the entrance to the San Rafael Swell - Zach and Yoda take "Safety First" very seriously as the sign suggests.
Best part of waking up is a desert sunrise on the rim. Coffee always tastes better at camp as we prep for a 26 mile ride along the rim.
Yoda Bear wants to go fast, but the desert is no place for an arctic dog. We make him a comfy shaded spot at camp with tons of water and chipmunks to chase.
The good water rim- desert scenery at its finest. The little grand canyon in the background will swell with tons of spring run off; hence the name "swell" :)
Cold beer after a long hot ride = pleasure town!
what goes up....
Must come down - through the narrows of Black Dragon canyon.
Yoda dog does a down dog while he moons the full moon
Stay tuned as we continue on our adventure to some classic lines in Moab and Fruita. Then we make our way home to ride some alpine trails in the Wasatch. To be continued...
