Where to Take Your Family This Winter Break

A winter vacation can be an amazing way to bring your whole family together during the holidays. It can create memories that last a lifetime. If you choose correctly, it will be well worth the money and time you spend, as well as taking off for work. So make sure you pick a post that will give your family everything you deserve. As the holidays are approaching, however, it may be good to narrow down your options to some fun, closer places that you can just hop in the car and drive to as a family. Here are some great places to choose from that won’t require extensive planning:

Utah

A lot of people don't realize how many attractions Utah has to offer. It is not all desert and cities. In fact, there are beautiful locations and mountains that you can go skiing, snowboarding, and hiking on. That is not to mention the world-class food scene.

A common trip is to go to Sundance Resort and have that as your base. Within the resort, there are plenty of activities to do. However, you are just a short distance from other attractions that you can check out that are all family friendly.

San Diego

If you are from up north, then you will love going somewhere with weather that is beautiful all year round. Forget about rain and snow -- San Diego is all about fun in the sun. Go surfing at the beach, relax in the sun, and just enjoy the sights and sounds of the city.

Disneyland

Sometimes, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. Disneyland is one of those locations that lets kids have as much fun as anything else. Go on some exciting rides, tour the park, and eat delicious snacks along the way. It's an experience that every family should make a point to have.

San Francisco

There must be something special about a city that almost anything you could think of. Silicon Valley has received much of the attention as of late due to the technology that comes out of the region. But there is much more to do there.

You can take wine tours of Napa Valley nearby. This region is known for having some of the best wines in the world. If you go to San Francisco, they will be right in your backyard.

The other thing that makes it a great winter destination is seeing Yosemite in the winter. The beautiful natural landscape will inspire your family to go back to the basics and focus on the things that are truly important to them.

Denver

Just because it is winter doesn't mean you have to go somewhere warm. You can have a great time going to Colorado and being near the snowy mountains. There are loads of skiing and other resort activities to get involved in. It will help your family get away from the noise and enjoy the crisp mountain air.

When it comes to family trips, not all of them are created equal. Some locations can give you much more enjoyable than others. Therefore, you should look at the options above. Then make a list of your top destinations and make a choice. If you don’t have the time or the means to go this winter, put it on your Christmas list for next year! Be prepared to have fun, learn a lot, and bond as a family.

Video: Would You Drive This Offroad Line?

Sure, Tim Durtschi and Colter Hinchliffe might have taken their Ford Ranger to the ends of the Earth in their latest film , but for some true off-roading, check out this rock crawling action. The real question, though? RC or real-life? What do you think? Either way, that's quite impressive. RELATED: Colter Hinchliffe and Tim Durtschi's New Film

To Live Hard And Die Laughing

Matthias Giraud. Erik Pütsep Photo. Matthias Giraud is going 50 miles an hour when he slams into the rock spire that juts out from the Pointe d’Areu; a peak just northwest of Mont Blanc. An impact at such speed, even within the protection of modern cars, is invariably catastrophic and likely fatal. Hanging from his parachute like a puppet attached to strings, Giraud has no such protection. He stops moving the instant his body makes contact with the rock, and free fall is interrupted

Alex Honnold Got His Lead Card Pulled Back in the Day

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Alex Honnold has never been one to follow the rules. Honnold rolls to the beat of his own drum, and he’s been doing it since long before he was a climbing superstar. His original climbing gym, Pipeworks in Sacramento, just shared this gem from the past. Apparently Honnold was caught skipping clips on the gym’s main roof. Nicky, a staff member from Pipeworks, wasn’t amused and pulled his lead card. Thankfully, the experience didn’t deter Honnold from
