The World’s First Electric Snowboard is Ridiculous

Another utterly ridiculous winter recreation product hit the market this winter.

In case you had not heard, Chinese company Cyrusher unveiled the world's first electric snowboard last December. Reported to have a top speed of 30mph and a max range of 12+ miles, this monstrosity of a gadget merges snowmobile and snowboard technologies with a "powerful 3000W motor, advanced V1 controller, and expertly engineered suspension." And it could all be yours for the low low price of $2,499!

Apparently, it can only be used in hardpack snow conditions, and you need to wear a large backpack containing the battery for the device.

I don't see any way this 30+ pound board can be practically used at a downhill resort without worlds of ridicule and embarrassment. But if you live somewhere without roads in the wintertime, or want to try and blow past split-boarders on the skin track, go right ahead. I'll be using a Onewheel instead.
