Snowboarding Made Shilo Sanders a better athlete

Shilo Sanders, the hard-hitting, lockdown safety for the Colorado Buffaloes, and son of the great Deion Sanders, is coming off a fantastic debut season for the Buffs after transferring from Jackson State. He started all 11 games for Colorado last year,  racking up 70 tackles, four forced fumbles, and earning himself second-team All-Pac-12 honors.

Shilo is prepping for a highly anticipated senior season under his father and head coach Deion. In the offseason, he's been busy getting stronger, faster and working on his game for the fall.

Since the Sanders family moved to Boulder in 2022 Shilo, like many other CU students, has taken up snowboarding. In an interview with the University of Colorado, Sanders said the sport has made him a better athlete.

“Believe it or not, I think snowboarding has actually made me faster. In the spring, I was doing conditioning, finishing first and stuff. But I feel like you balance out your toes and it gets those calves right.”
