Monarch Mountain Unveils No Name Basin Trail Map, Marking Major Expansion Ahead of 2025–26 Season

Monarch Mountain's No Name Basin expansion introduces 377 acres of new terrain, featuring 1,000 vertical feet, a new triple chairlift, and 12 intermediate to advanced runs. Opening in the 2025–26 ski season, this marks the resort's largest growth in decades.

Monarch Mountain, Colorado’s beloved independent ski area known for its laid-back vibe and abundant, dry snow, has just released the trail map for its highly anticipated No Name Basin expansion. This 377-acre addition marks the resort's most significant growth in decades, increasing its lift-served terrain by nearly 50%.

Fully accessible next season (2025–26), No Name Basin introduces 1,000 vertical feet of new terrain accessible via the newly named Tomichi Lift—a fixed-grip, three-person Skytrac chairlift set for installation this summer. Parts of No Name Basin had been accessible via Monarch's cat skiing operations prior to the official expansion, which brings Monarch's total skiable acreage to over 1,000 acres.

After years of careful planning, permitting, and assessments, Monarch Mountain received USFS approval to begin the project in July 2024. Throughout the summer, the ski area worked with contractors to build the access road, install power for the lift, and clear out the runs. Development and construction will continue through the summer of 2025, with plans to open the new terrain during the 25/26 ski season.
