The utilitarian workman’s pant has just transcended into the ski/snowboard mountain realm. The FlyLow Stash pants have the performance of a top shelf Arcteryx or Patagonia backcountry pant but with a bit more grit and weight to them. Beyond the comfortable boot cut fit and superb wind shielding performance, there are a few features of this pair that really stand out amongst the sea of ski pants.
Often I find myself needing a belt when sporting my pants on the mountain, but it can get a tad annoying with your belt buckle jabbing you in the lower abdomen while I’m bending over to buckle in. They have installed a couple of elastic Velcroe straps that allow you tighten and loosen the waist band. It creates a similar feel to that of sweatpants than a pair of jeans. Plus for those warm spring days or long hikes, they have put vents on both the inside and outside of the pants for great cross ventilation that keeps you cool and reduces greenhouse effect. These pants fall in the $250 price range which may seem pretty steep, but these feel like a pair of Dickies that you can really put some miles on and keep with you for a few seasons.
