After testing piles and piles of ski and snowboard pants for this season, I can confidently say that the Arc’teryx Sabre Full-Bib Pants are by far the best I’ve used. These bad boys are everything I look for in a pair of pants and more. They feature 3-layer Gore-Tex so that they’re waterproof and breathable, are slightly insulated (keeps my ass toasty on the lift), have smartly laid out pockets and the bibs are perfect for keeping drafts and snow out.
I really enjoy skiing in well-engineered garments and the Sabre’s can easily turn a great day on the hill into an even better one. The cut, articulated knees and seat of these pants is relaxed enough for precision maneuverability and contemporary looking enough to exude some style too. I’ve also discovered that the two bib chest pockets are ideal for car keys (small pocket) and keeping energy bars from freezing (larger pocket), the two large hand/cargo pockets are luxuriously lined with brushed-knit polyester for temporarily keeping your hands warm without gloves and the laminated powder cuffs are robust enough to withstand significant ski edge abuse. It’s also nice to have the two thigh vents to dump heat while hiking and skinning.
The Arc’teryx Sabre Full-Bib Pants are my new go-to pants for this season and easily set a much higher benchmark for all future ski pants . At the end of the day, the Arc’teryx Sabre’s are lightweight, super durable, waterproof and breathable ski pants that will keep you dry and warm on the snowiest and stormiest of days. I can’t speak highly enough of these pants and if you want the crème de la crème this season, the Sabre’s are your clear choice. These pants are the real deal.
