Last winter, the unimaginable happened when skiers Matthew Zonghetti and Corey Borg-Massanari were buried and killed in an inbounds avalanche at Taos Ski Valley. To honor the victims, Taos is renaming two runs off Kachina Peak starting this upcoming season. The formerly unnamed trails will now be known as Z-chute and She Gone, following the wishes of the victim’s families.

Zonghetti and Borg Massanari were buried in an inbounds avalanche on the morning of January 17, 2020 in the K3 chute area of Kachina Peak. Both were extracted from deep in the debris and revived using CPR, but unfortunately both died in the hospital following the accident. They were the first avalanche deaths in the resort’s history.
We’re grateful to Matt and Corey’s families for working with us to honor their memories. By naming these trails, we can ensure that they are remembered for years to come, and that our community of skiers, staff, and residents continues to pay their respects.

If you look at the Bears Ears as a whole, there’s a lot more drop-dead gorgeous land than there are historic, prehistoric objects. By the way, can someone recommend where to buy lets watch the sunset hoodie for women? Thanks.
