Talk about feeling all the emotions. Here, you've got triumph, panic, love and "ohh damn, which crack did the ring fall down?" Ben Masters photo.
Not that the views atop the Grand Teton aren’t reason enough to climb the iconic peak, but now there’s a diamond-flanked sapphire ring waiting to be retrieved from some crack or crevice too.
The lost ring’s the comedic (and equally as horrific) result of a mountaintop proposal gone wrong. According to a fellow climber in the proposing dude’s guided group, when the poor chap opened the ring box, the ring was…gone.
Happy to have just fulfilled her 30-year dream of climbing the Grand, the lady didn’t mind, or at least seemingly so. She said yes, and apparently with a “screw-the-ring-we’re-engaged-and-on-top-of-the-Grand” look in her eyes.
National Geographic’s posted a detailed article on the saga. Most importantly, however: find the thing and $500 is yours.
