Jay Peak Closed Due to Extreme Cold

Jay Peak was closed on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, due to dangerously cold temperatures and high winds on the mountain.  The cold snap came in the wake of a storm which dropped a foot or more of snow across the state.  Jay Peak itself has received 37 inches of snow over the past week.

Jay Peak'd Tuesday snow report described Monday as an "apocalyptic wind & cold event," and noted that "realistically, most of the loose snow on the hill has probably migrated into the woods by now."
