Avalanche Canada responded on Monday to three skiers who were thrown roughly 100m by an avalanche on the east ridge of Mt. Patterson in the backcountry near Banff. The skiers sustained injuries, the worst of which was a head injury and broken ribs, and lost gear. Luckily there were no burials, and all three skiers were successfully evacuated to a waiting ambulance.
