This week the U.S. freeskiing team unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming Olympics in South Korea with a large press event in New York City. It was attended by Maddie Bowman and Devin Logan, along with Aaron Blunck. The North Face was again tasked with creating the kits for Team USA and the company worked closely with the athletes for the new look. Based on feedback from the Sochi games they wanted more muted color palette, which is reflected in the design along with other customization options.

The Sochi Olympics saw high temperatures during the finals and more could be expected with this edition of the games. So beyond the standard jackets and pants, the kits also includes vests, hoodies, overalls, t-shirts and more. The lettering is inspired by the NASA program. One could make the case that both astronauts and freeskiers are "space explorers" in their own right.
I have to say I'm digging Team USA's style and nothing can be as bad as Burton's fake denim or Team Germany's god awful creations.
We were glad to see the denim trend die. USA Today photo.
