IMBA Announces 9 Brand-New EPIC trails

For those looking for the ultimate singletrack sufferfest (or just a sick day out on the bike), IMBA has designated a 61-mile loops through the mountains near Aspen, CO as a new EPIC ride. IMBA photo.

The International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) has added nine new trails to their list of the best singletrack journeys in the world. Over the last decade, IMBA has designated singletrack trails in remote backcountry locations as EPIC rides to promote sustainable trail building and raise awareness on these beautiful locations. These are the kind of trails worth traveling far and wide to ride; they have been designated for a good reason.

To give an idea of what these trails look like, they are not your average after-work jaunt on two wheels. The 46 current trails are each over 20 miles long, and run through areas like the New Zealand Alps, the Canadian Rockies, and the Welsh highlands. This ain’t your grandpa’s dirt road. Think creatively built singletrack built to challenge to modern rider, with views that rival the best of them.

This year’s list is no different:

Aspen Snowmass Mega Loop, Aspen, CO

Galena Grinder, Sun Valley, ID

Heaphy Track, Nelson, New Zealand

Johnson Pass, Kenai Peninsula, AK

Mohican State Park MTB Trail, Loudonville, OH

Old Ghost Road, Nelson, New Zealand

Sininen Saavutus Trail, Hossa National Park, Finland

South Boundary Trail, Taos, NM

Tsali Loops, Bryson City, NC

Here is a full list and map of every EPICS ride.
