Step into the World of Adventure Photographer Chris Figenshau

When Jeremy Jones ventures into the mountains for a film trip, the first guy he calls is Jackson-based photographer Chris Figenshau. Figs, as his mountain partners affectionately call him, is the kind of guy who’s managed to carve out a niche doing the near-impossible: chasing professional ski mountaineers up and down the world’s nastiest peaks to snap photos and shoot intimately close video of their adventures.

20 years ago, Figs has started his career shooting Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s photo of the day, which quickly morphed into becoming one of the most respected on-slope photographers in snowsports world. Since then, he has become a husband and father, and still calls the Tetons home, bringing back his experiences from all over the world to share with his family.
