Skier Falls Over 200-foot Cliff on Tahoe’s Mount Tallac

A backcountry skier survived a massive fall in the Tahoe backcountry on Sunday, according to the Tahoe Daily Tribune. The man was skiing with friends the North side of Mount Tallac, just west of Heavenly Mountain Resort, when he reportedly fell 200-300 feet over rocks, sustaining major injuries.

His friends called 911, and the victim was airlifted by a California Highway Patrol helicopter before being transported by CALSTAR to a Reno Hospital. No updates have been issued on his condition.
