Shimano Releases New Version of the Classic SPD Sandal

Nope, this isn’t a joke. Shimano just released a 25th-anniversary edition of their classic SPD sandal – yup a Chaco-like creation that clips into your mountain bike pedals. In fact, they’ve been around and quite useful for a quarter century, finding a place on the feet of bikepackers and racers in super-hot climates where some extra ventilation and quick drying time is welcome.

While these might not see much use here on Teton Pass, I might grab a pair for myself to set my next KOM to the grocery store. Who knows? Maybe that extra ventilation will spare me a second or two!
