Ryland Bell Checks in: Fishing in Alaska

This summer has flown by. It has been a summer of amazing weather and incredible fishing. Three months of sunny weather starting at the end of April was welcome after three months of rain each summer the last two years. All summer I daydream about winter and want it to end so the snow will fly and I can return to the mountains to slay untracked powder. However, as the end approaches I become nostalgic of years past and good times had here on the summer fishing grounds. I's hard to leave it all behind, good times with good friends cruising around the ocean on boats. Alaska is my home, and every fall as I pack my things and prepare for the migration south to the land of high speed quads I shed a tear. I wonder why I am leaving the motherland of pow, but I know why, I spent most of my life here living in the bitter cold and dark, and it's nice to go somewhere where 20 degrees is cold  ad if it's not snowing it's sunny and 60 degrees. Then I smile and think of all the fun times to be had ahead. I feel fishing will always be here along with the good times and good friends and I'll be back.

Snowboarding is my life. The mountains inspire me to push my limits. Gravity excites me, pulls me, I push back. I wield my paintbrush on natures canvas. I love this life.
