Japan and snowboarding are synonymous to Teahupo’o and big wave surfing. It’s the Mecca of deep pow and surfy soul turns mixed with a one-of-a-kind cultural experience, so naturally pro snowboarders Robin Van Gyn, Torah Bright and Aimee Fuller made the pilgrimage to indulge in the miracle of Japow.
67 hours of flight time total, 10 pieces of luggage, 17 airplane/airport meals, and one 5 hour van ride, ONE WAY. Worth it to land in the land of ramen and Hi-Chew with 2 of your sisters from different prime ministers. Torah Bright, Aimee Fuller and I spent 10 days in Niseko, wading in Japow, sampling everything this incredible island has to offer… including dried fish.
