Andy Irons had many rivalries in his life, and none stood out more than the one between him and his little brother Bruce. That rivalry pushed each of them to better their surfing and feed off one another’s energy. Sometimes, however, it turned into real altercations that took place in public. Legendary Kauai surfer Eddie Abubo reminisces on one particular instance when Bruce cut off Andy on a wave, and when they returned to the beach, Andy stomped on and broke the fins off Bruce’s board, provoking some comments from bystanders. Andy and Bruce had become the unruly ones.
