Refill and Reuse with Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows’ Drink Mtn. Tap Program
Popular Stories
Wouldn't you like to cut out the expense of $3 bottled water out of your ski day expenses, and yet effectively stay hydrated throughout your ski day while reducing your carbon footprint? Jeremy Jones has found the solution by creating the new Drink Mtn. Tap -- Fresh Taste Without Waste program starting at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. The message Jeremey wants to send through this initiative is to get people to rethink using single-use products especially for something like water, which we are fortunate to have some of the cleanest drinking water in the world.

Over 20 new water fountains and refill stations have been installed through Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, giving people easy access to clean drinking water. They will also be offering to guests a 16.9 oz., BPA collapsable water bottle sold for just $3 and gets smaller as you drink, making it easy to store in any pocket. Each year this program will remove at least 28,000 plastic bottles from our waste stream, 80% of which never make it into a recycling bin. Hopefully this will inspire other resorts, and communities across the country and the world to refill, reuse, and reduce single-use.
