Last week, TGR joined snowboarder Zeb Powell and a crew of friends on a Northeast road trip up the historic Vermont Route 100 for the 2021 Red Bull Slide-In Tour. We followed the crew as they showcased and showed off their favorite known and not-so-known features at resort stops and off-the-beaten-path stops. We’re talking Woodward at Killington, the famous Rochester Rope Tow, Zeb leading riders down the hill at Suicide Six, and of course a mandatory stop at the TGR Killington Outpost shop, where athletes Zeb Powell and Maggie Leon got a chance to hang with fans.

Red Bull Slide-In Tour brought together three pro snowboarders, including Red Bull athlete and 2020 X Games Knuckle Huck Gold Medalist Zeb Powell, pro snowboarder Miles Fallon and Vermont snowboard standout Maggie Leon, touring historic Route 100 up the length of Vermont. This year’s goal was to inspire youth and underrepresented groups to get involved in snowboarding, especially at events with the
Chill Foundation.

That was a big night for me, my first time really getting to hang with the Chill Foundation, and it was cool to get a feel for what I really want to get into… giving more opportunities for people to try snowboarding and make the mountains more colorful over the next few years.

If we can build out our community to make it more diverse and inclusive, that’s the goal. When I was little, I was basically the only girl on-hill. Eventually, hopefully, we’ll have a 50-50 split on the mountain.

Programs like
Hoods to Woods and the Chill Foundation, they’re allowing kids to get out there and making it more accessible, which is really rad. When I’m snowboarding, it’s a euphoric feeling that you can’t really capture anywhere else, and it would be rude of me to not try to share it with other people!

For this Northeast group of snowboarders, the east coast grit is what makes them the best at their craft. The less-than ideal conditions and certain swagger that exists both on and off the mountain are the foundational characteristics that helped build the snowboarders that this group has become. Each resort’s terrain team focuses on making their resort the absolute best and most challenging. Follow the crew as they showcase and show off their favorite known, and not-so-known - features at resort stops and off-the-beaten-path stops.
