Rachel Atherton and Loïc Bruni Are Your 2018 DH World Champs

Sunday marked the final day on the UCI DH race calendar, with the world’s fastest racers representing their own countries on the world stage in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. After a long season of racing, two riders emerged victorious in one of the closest races of the year. The top 4 men’s racers finished within 0.75 seconds of one another, on a 3-minute course. As the old adage goes, a fart could have changed the outcome. Last year’s world champ, Frenchman Loïc Bruni edged out Martin Maes, Danny Hart, and Loris Vergier for the win. American Aaron Gwin came in just a hair slower in 5th place.

On the women’s side, perennial powerhouse Rachel Atherton blew away the field with a nearly 10-second advantage over Tahnee Seagrave and Myriam Nicole. Check out Atherton’s run here:
