‘Pressure Drop’ Athletes Claim Victory at Ridgway Skijoring
Popular Stories
While most fans are used to seeing Jim Ryan and Madison Rose Ostergren navigating the terrifying ice pitches of Norway in our 30th annual film, Pressure Drop, this past weekend saw them in a very different element. The duo headed to Ridgway, Colorado, to test their mettle in the wild world of San Juan Skijoring. Trading the technical silence of the high alpine for the roar of a crowd and the thundering of hooves, Jim and Mads proved that their skills on the mountain translates perfectly to the track.
A Masterclass in Versatility
Skijoring is a sport that demands the ultimate level of trust between the horse, rider, and skier. It’s a high-speed race that requires the focus that Jim and Mads utilized during their time filming in Lofoten. In Ridgway, the pair didn't just participate; they showed up and locked in, securing top honors in their respective divisions.
Mads claimed first place in the Sport Division, notably as the only female skier, paired with Kirsten Becks on Cheddar. Meanwhile, Jim Ryan proved to be the day's heavy hitter. With rider Richard Webber on Lick em' for Luck, Jim secured 1st Place Overall with a time of 20.82 seconds.

The Pressure Drop Connection
This win comes at a perfect time as the Pressure Drop World Tour continues to celebrate 30 years of TGR. Whether they are skiing the Tetons or being towed at breakneck speeds behind a horse, Jim and Mads embody the TGR ethos. Their ability to handle high-stakes environments, whether it's a no-fall zone in Norway or a tight turn on a skijoring course, is exactly why they remain staples of the TGR crew.
