POV: Skiing Utah’s 24 Inch in 24 Hours Storm

The MLK holiday weekend was one for the record books in Utah’s Wasatch mountains, with resorts receiving upwards of two feet of snow in 24 hours. Alta and Snowbird were forced to close and keep guests inside, banning interlodge travel while crews performed avalanche mitigation work. The Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon roads were closed for hours as well.
