TGR’s 26th annual film release STOKE THE FIRE explores our athletes’ evolution within skiing and the pure joy that manifests from that process. The stoke means different things to different people based on where they are in their evolution. For some it is about committing to a new world, a lifestyle, and the friendships that blossom from that commitment. The choice to enter this world is a spark, and with every new experience the fire grows. With more knowledge comes more exploration, both physically and geographically, that helps to understand what those raw experiences connected with nature do for the soul. With more experience an examination of our shared history becomes important, and ultimately some of us might want to test our limits at the upper echelon of what is possible by drawing upon the sum of our knowledge and experiences. While the answers we find are different for everyone the pursuit of this evolution is something sacred, the pursuit is what stokes the fire. 


 The worldwide tour for Stoke the Fire launches in September.

 A letter from TGR to the environment.


 Dear Earth,


 TGR is far from perfect, but we are trying and will continue to evolve as we seek to minimize our own footprint. We realize the impact we have had on the environment, but also recognize the opportunity we have about using our platform to offset that not only economically but through increased messaging. Whether through films like Ode to Muir or Roadless, through partnerships with like-minded organizations like Leave No Trace, Sierra Nevada, Aspiration Bank, POW, Surfrider, 1% and more, our goal is to minimize the negative impact we have while ensuring that the benefits outweigh that impact.


 Some of the things we do:


 &#8211; Carbon offsets: In 2021, TGR supported removing 400.00 MtCO2e. &#8211; TGR HQ is powered by 100 % local green power. &#8211; Focusing more and more on foot-powered missions and Leave No Trace principles while filming. &#8211; We use recycled materials whenever possible in TGR Supply products. We need you, and will continue to do everything in our power to support you.

Winterland is a celebration of ski and snowboard culture. Today&#8217;s mountain athletes can only stand as tall as those who came before, the pirates of the past who followed their own path and passion. This story of adventure is far from over, as a new crop of modern-day pioneers are eager to etch their names in the annals of history. The technology and style might evolve, but the rush, excitement, and pure fun remain eternal, bonding past, present, and future riders. The film will follow these individuals as they leave their own mark on these fabled locations.

While the final destination appears to be the ultimate goal, it is the collective of athletes, experiences, and the array of locations around the world that inevitably drive the season’s adventure. Witness mind-bending pillow lines as the crew camps out deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. Experience urban madness in Kamchatka and the insanity of the Crazy Mountains in Montana. Join the crew in the Slovenian Alps for over-the-head cold smoke and watch an 11-year-old rip Jackson Hole. Discover the alien landscape of Girdwood, Alaska in January and see Sean Jordan ride into Crested Butte on a black stallion to shred the Southern Rockies. Find out if the wildest and most untamed mountains in Europe let us in, and if the ultimate destination became a reality.

Since the dawn of time, everything that has lived and breathed on this planet has been subject to the whims of Mother Nature. The nature of an adventurer is inherently rogue; typically wild in character, subject to the fancy of their imagination. We are unequivocally drawn to nature’s rawest fury and deepest mysteries.  In the winter of 2017, the magnitude of winter&#8217;s force was on full display. Telephone-pole-snapping storms pounded the Wyoming landscape. Regions to the west, recently left arid and forgotten, were gifted with unprecedented accumulation. Blizzards in Europe buried towns in an instant before disappearing just as fast, leaving the lucky few who were there to wonder if it even happened. A Bolivian expedition found grace above 18,000 feet before the elements went rogue and the humans reluctantly heeded warnings from above.


 Join the TGR team as they embark on an adventure filled with fury and glory, and witness the unimaginable. Presented by REI.
