Ozzy Osbourne Dies at 76, A Legend Who Soundtracked Stoke

In honor of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing on July 22, 2025, we revisit one of TGR’s most iconic snowboard segments—Jeremy Jones charging Alaska’s spines to “Crazy Train.” A tribute to the Prince of Darkness and the lasting impact his chaotic energy had on generations of skiers, riders, and rebels alike.

The music world is reeling with the news that Ozzy Osbourne—the legendary Prince of Darkness—passed away on July 22, 2025. A cultural icon for over 50 years, Ozzy’s influence stretched far beyond the stage, providing the high-voltage soundtrack for generations of rule-breakers—including skiers and snowboarders.

From Walkmans on the lift to boomboxes in the lot, Ozzy’s voice echoed through the mountains. His music was—and still is—the perfect fuel for dropping into big lines and launching backcountry booters: pure, chaotic energy that perfectly matches the spirit of action sports.

In remembrance of his incredible legacy, we dug through the TGR vault to find one of our favorite Ozzy-powered moments. This classic snowboard segment is a time capsule, a moment in riding history when untamed style and sound collided in perfect harmony. It’s a testament to how a legendary artist could make a film part truly timeless.

Set to Ozzy Osbourne’s iconic “Crazy Train,” the segment features Jeremy Jones in the Alaska backcountry, filmed for TGR’s 2000 release Further. At the time, Jeremy was helping define what big mountain snowboarding could look like—navigating towering spines, committing to bold lines, and doing it all with a raw edge that matched the soundtrack note for note.

Watch the clip below, and raise a glass to the man who provided the soundtrack for so many of us to get wild. Rest in Power, Prince of Darkness.
