On Andy Irons Day TGR Remembers “The People’s Champion”

After Andy Irons won back to back World Titles in 2002 and 2003, the Governor of Hawaii declared this date, February 13th as Andy Irons Day. The recognition came not only for his athletic ability in the ocean but as a symbol of Hawaii, a native son of Kauai who brought the world title home to the rightful home of surfing.

Today TGR remembers "the people's champion", whose spirit lives on in the people and places that Andy loved.
