Ocean Master Anthony Vela Tackles North America’s Gnarliest Standing Wave

Professional Stand Up Paddleboarder, lifeguard and all around ocean and water craftsman, Anthony Vela who's fascinated by every wave, current and hydraulic feature he crosses path with. For his latest study, Anthony adventures out to the mysterious standing wave of Skookumchuck Narrows, just down channel from the tiny British Columbia Sea town of Egmont. Watch as Vela and co. makes the journey, topped off by a three-mile hike down to the narrows where they are greeted by a surfable standing wave created by tidal flow that pours over a rock shelf for a Canadian surfers paradise.
