Saturday, February 15th dawned clear and crisp at Arapahoe Basin, as do most mornings in the Sunshine State. One of the last remaining independent ski resorts in Colorado was about to be inundated by skiers exclusively clad in their very best Canadian Tuxedos.

By early afternoon, 80 skiers had gathered at the top of the Pallavicini lift to set a record for the most people skiing at one time in jeans (no official record had been previously established). Why skiing in jeans has become such a fad is up for debate. Is it the general derision pointed at Texan tourists? Why should they purchase hundreds of dollars of high-tech gear for three days of skiing when their dungarees clearly get the job done? Was it the "*insert lesser-liked politician* skis in jeans" signs and stickers that began populating lawns and chair lifts as of late? Jeans are a quintessential American fabric that transcends politics and the connection to Jerrys on and off the mountain. If skiing in jeans is making a comeback, we're here for the revolution. Congratulations are in order for Arapahoe Basin and every last jeaned skier there.
