Mt. Hood’s Timberline ‘Thrilled’ as Oregon Begins Reopening Recreation Areas

On Tuesday, May 5th, Oregon's Governor Kate Brown announced the limited reopening of state recreation areas, starting with a "small number of inland state parks" which opened for limited daytime use on May 6th. According to the press release, more parks and recreation areas will begin reopening the week of May 11th.

With specific reference to Oregon's several ski areas, Governor Brown said that "ski resorts will also be able to resume activities under a new executive order that will be forthcoming." While no specific timetable has been put in place for reopening ski resorts, Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge posted an update on their website on May 5th, saying "we are thrilled with the Governor's news eventually re-opening the Ski Area. We are still waiting on an Executive Order for more clarification."
