Lebron James Invests $30M Into Canyon Bicycles

Canyon Bicycles has announced that US-based investments firms LRMR Ventures and SC Holdings have bought into a strategic equity investment in the German bike manufacturer. LRMR Ventures is owned by global basketball icon Lebron James and sports executive Maverick Carter. James has long shown an interest in the power of bikes, including riding his bike to games in 2012, taking a minority stake in Cannondale in 2007, creating King for Kid's Bike-a-Thon in 2008, and promoting cycling with the LeBron James Family Foundation, the "I Promise" School, as well as with LyftUp. This new $30 million investment will help Canyon further cement itself in the US market. LRMR Ventures and SC Holdings join the company’s founder Roman Arnold and current Belgian majority stakeholder Groupe Bruxelles Lambert to support what Canyon called “ambitious growth plans” for U.S. markets. Who knows, maybe we’ll see a Lebron mountain edit one of these days?
