Laurie Greenland and Marine Cabirou Win Val di Sole DH

Val di Sole, Italy counts as one of the gnarliest tracks on this year’s World Cup DH racing circuit and a series of rainstorms made the puzzle of completing a run at full speed that much more challenging this weekend. It was a race that brought some new names to the top of the podium, as the usual riders to win were unable to figure out how to dominate yet again.

In the end, Laurie Greenland won the men’s race by 2.8 seconds, above Loic Bruni, Loris Vergier, Amaury Pierron, and Danny Hart. Marine Cabirou celebrated her first win at a women’s WC race, crushing the rest of the field by nearly 12 seconds, edging out Tracey Hannah, Camille Balanche, Veronika Widmann, and Emilie Siegenthaler.
