Kappa and U.S. Ski & Snowboard Reveal Historic 2026 Uniforms
Popular Stories
Unity is a rare commodity in individual sports, but U.S. Ski & Snowboard is making a massive statement for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games. For the first time since the 1980s, every single athlete—across all 10 disciplines from Alpine and Freeski to Snowboard and Para-alpine—will wear the exact same uniform. This "One Team" approach, in partnership with Kappa, is designed to foster a sense of collective identity.

The 1984 Influence
The design isn't just a tribute to heritage; it’s a callback to one of the most iconic eras in history. Kappa’s design team looked to the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games for inspiration. You’ll notice the "star band" running down the limbs, a classic red, white, and blue palette, and bold "USA" lettering that screams 80s. It’s a look that feels both vintage and modern—a perfect fit for the streets of Milan.

Technical Prowess
While the aesthetic is retro, the tech is anything but. Kappa has spent decades in the R&D trenches of winter sports. The collection includes high-performance race suits, technical anoraks, and insulated jackets tailored to the specific biomechanics of each sport. Whether it’s the aerodynamic needs of a downhill racer or the baggy, articulated fit required for a slopestyle run, the gear is built to perform in the world’s harshest environments.
By stripping away the sport-specific silos of the past, Team USA is arriving in Italy as a single, cohesive unit. As U.S. Ski & Snowboard CEO Sophie Goldschmidt put it, these uniforms ensure the team arrives "united, confident, and ready to perform at the highest level."
