VIDEO: Finding Solace

Kaitlyn Farrington's snowboarding career brought her to extreme highs but also to devastating personal lows. After winning the gold medal in the women's halfpipe during the 2014 Olympics she was diagnosed with a congenital cervical stenosis, a spinal disease that ended her professional competitive career. Her story picks up in the beautiful, small mountain town of Whitefish, Montana. With the slower pace of life in Whitefish, she was able to focus on finding solace in the quiet places of this mountain valley and celebrating the shared values of protecting this town for future generations. Kaitlyn's story is one of success, disappointment, but most importantly perseverance in the face of impossible circumstances.
