It’s a well-known fact that Chamonix, France is home to the most f**ked up steep skiing and riding in the world, and of course it attracts folks like Jeremie Heitz, Victor De Le Rue, and Pierre Hourticq to its icy flanks. For these three, and probably for most of us out there, pushing the limits in the mountains brings us a certain kind of intense happiness. In French, they call it félicité, and it’s exactly what keeps Heitz, De Le Rue, and Hourticq going in this extreme and inhospitable environment.

Beneath the sharp needles of Chamonix, between rock, snow and ice, Félicité delivers a concentrate of the emotional and personal richness offered by the mountain to extreme skiers.
Chamonix also isn’t the place it once was – with climate change ravishing the glacial permafrost in the Mont Blanc Massif, many of the lines featured in the film look much different than they have in years past. It’s worth mentioning that many locals predict these lines will be impossible to safely access within the next few years. Heitz, Hourticq and De Le Rue make it happen anyway.
