In The Water With The North Shore’s Top Surf Photographer

From November to January every year the North Shore of Oahu becomes surfing's epicenter and a proving ground for some of the top surfers in the world. The young Hawaiian surf photographer Zak Noyle calls it his Super Bowl, and has a very special relationship with that particular stretch of beach, and prides it for providing some of his best and most iconic imagery. Zak stresses the importance of being in top physical and mental shape and training before each season to help him be in the moment, get the shot and mitigate the obvious risks. Surfing could be one of the most dangerous sports in the world to shoot, the list of risks from drowning, to getting hit by another surfer goes, on, but it's the reward and passion that pays off.
