How ‘Winterland’ Went from Raw Footy to Polished Film
Popular Stories
Every year, TGR spends months stacking bytes for our annual film. From POV shots, aerials, and stills to audio pickups and B-roll, it adds up to terabytes and terabytes of raw, unedited content. How does that turn into a finished product? Good question. The answer: Countless hours of work by a dedicated team of loggers, editors, colorists and other post-production experts.
From loggers, the folks who catalogue and organize the footage, to assistant and lead editors, the folks who piece the footage together into scenes, to colorists, the folks who ensure footage looks consistently cinematic and professional, it's a collaborative effort. This year, for the first time ever, we had a four-woman team taking the lead in post-production: Jill Garreffi, Charlotte Percle, Kristin Anderson, and Zoe Catalano.
The biggest challenge is the timeline. We start shooting in January and have to put out a finished product in September. It's a race against time, especially considering that footage is constantly flooding in throughout the winter months.

Compared to the post-production process for most feature-length films, often a multi-year process, TGR's compressed timeline can seem insurmountable. Nevertheless, our team of editors consistently puts out polished products. We're lucky to have such a highly-skilled team working behind the scenes, and want to thank them for their long hours and hard work.
