Racism exists, and it's ugly, but everyone can work to put a permanent end to it. It has no place in the outdoors, and it has no place anywhere. Therefore, fixing racism in the outdoors needs to start at the systemic level. If you are stuck at home wondering how you can be of productive help in this fight, here are some tools to help you join the cause we all need to be fighting for right now.
Donate To the Families.
To the family and loved ones of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, or the countless other Americans who have lost their lives at the hands of racism and oppression.
Donate to an organization and support local businesses that have been vandalized or looted.

Join the Protest:
If you exercise your right as an American to participate in a local protest, do so peacefully, and make sure to take precautions for your own and others’ safety and acknowledge local curfews if they apply.
Continue to support outdoor brands that are fighting racism.
Remember when just a few weeks ago we were still reeling about how a global pandemic was wreaking havoc on industry? Well, a growing number of outdoor industry brands had it in them to donate large amounts of money to support organizations fighting racism and the helping the black community, moves that will make a difference for the greater goal.
Right now, that list prominently includes MTB apparel brand Velocio, Patagonia, and a growing number of other brands letting their actions do the talking.
