Hadley Hammer’s Favorite Spots To Hang Out in Jackson Hole

As a long-time Jackson Hole local, Hadley Hammer knows about it all when it comes to finding things to do both on and off the mountain. Sure, she loves ripping turns at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, or going for long missions in Grand Teton National Park, but there’s much more the Jackson Hole than just skiing powder off the tram. For her, it’s about spending quality time with close friends and taking advantage of our unique mountain town lifestyle.

We spent a weekend chasing Hadley and her friends Leslie Hittmeier and Sophie Danison – both filmmakers and writers in the outdoor space – as they took advantage of some shoulder season activities in the Tetons. Those included hanging out with Cash the dog, a leisurely skin up Snow King Mountain, a heated Nordic ski race, and finding ingredients for a delicious home-cooked meal.

I think it’s really cool, especially in Jackson to be surrounded by people that are really passionate about living this lifestyle that’s outdoor-focused.

Better known to locals just as the “Town Hill” Snow King is a family-friendly ski hill located just above downtown Jackson Hole. It’s tiny, but it packs a serious punch, with steep groomers, awesome tree skiing, and low-key vibes for those looking for some relaxed turns. For those looking for an extra workout, Snow King also offers uphill access all season long, so slap on the skins and go for a ski tour up the multiple uphill routes on the mountain.

Skinny Skis:

If you are looking for a spot to rent Nordic ski equipment in town, look no further than Skinny Skis. A true specialty shop, it caters to the dedicated Nordic skiing community in the Tetons, and has everything you need to rent gear for the day or buy a full set up to use all season long.

Jackson Whole Grocer & Cafe:

Hadley’s favorite place to go grocery shopping is the Jackson Whole Grocer, our very own organic and natural grocer. For the 30 years, Jackson Whole Grocer has served the community with everyday essentials and culinary specialties. It’s a great place to source hard-to-find ingredients for whatever is on the dinner menu that night, or just pop by for a grab-and-go snack in the prepared food and café areas. The Whole Grocer also features a cozy community area that hosts local events several times a week.
