Griff, Smoothy, and Fabi Explore Austria’s Skiing and Culture

Skiing is deeply ingrained in Austrian culture, from big-mountain shredding to downhill racing. As such, it only seemed appropriate to send Sam Smoothy and Griff Post across the pond this season. Griff was born in Austria, rendering him a natural choice, and Smoothy is an international man of mystery and stoke. Joined by local shredder Fabian Lentsch, the trio set out to take advantage of the region’s offerings. Buoyed by an unprecedentedly-deep early season snowpack, they laced up lines that are normally only filled in much later in the year.

Besides skiing, they also took advantage of Austria’s incomparable apres-ski culture, enjoying post-shred beers and schnitzel at several of the region’s countless mountain lodge/restaurants. Not to mention, they got front row seats at the Hahnenkamm—arguably the world’s most prestigious downhill ski race. All in all, it was a trip for the books.
