FWT Hakuba Confirmed for Saturday 1/19

The Freeride World Tour is about to kick off in Hakuba, Japan amid one of the deepest Januarys we’ve ever seen out there. Competition starts at 8:30AM Japan Time, 00:30 AM CET, or 3:30 PM PST tomorrow. Basically, you’ll be watching skiing from the future.

Last year’s Hakuba comp was rescheduled thanks to TOO much snow and resulting avalanche danger, which seems to be under control this year. Thanks to a few injuries and illnesses on the tour canceling some athlete’s seasons (including two of our favorite skiers - Sam “Ibex” Lee and Ivan Malakhov), FWT has announced a new wild card for the event: Kye Petersen. Without a doubt, Petersen has what it takes to impress the judges and audience, so we’re sure to see quite the show tomorrow.
