

June Mountain Groms Give a Lesson in Shredding

Tucked off the beaten path in the Eastern Sierra is June Mountain—a hidden gem in the world of ski resorts. "There's nobody there. You really feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself," explains local snowboarder Ronan Price. June is where Price mastered his toeside turn as six-year-old, and he's been shredding here ever since. Price says:

"When I'm snowboarding I get a feeling that's like no other."
"It's a place that I can go to and feel calm,' he explains. The 10-year-old kindly gave us a tour with his buddy Ewen Tomaier, showing us the proper way to hit the park. But the grom isn't limited just to boxes and booters, he's notorious for finding the best stashes of powder. Always looking to progress, Price's next major goal is to get upside down on one of the big park jumps. Considering how he's riding now, that shouldn't take too long.
