If you want to maximize your experience at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, you'd best get a quick tune beforehand. Out here, it's all about setting an edge and riding from top to the bottom. Carving on these West Virginia slopes is what the locals get hyped about—especially when you can lay it down fast and low. Local snowboarder and racer Grant Reeves explained:

"It's a steep groomer with lots of little side hits that you can get weird with." As a competitor for both GS and banked slalom snowboarding, he's found Snowshoe's runs to be perfect for getting his carving technique up to speed for race day. "You can get a lot of speed, hold a great edge, and a lot of our groomers have been here for so long that they've got it dialed," he said.

In addition to pristine corduroy, Snowshoe has lots of playful freestyle features dispersed throughout the mountain. As grom Tristen O'Steen shows us, they're much more fun to tear up with a giant crew.
