From Park Laps to Powder Hits: CAPiTA and 686 Unleash the Sublime Collab
Popular Stories
The intersection of snowboarding culture and music has always delivered. Now, two powerhouses of the shred world, 686 outerwear and CAPiTA snowboards, have dropped a collaboration kit that demands attention: the Sublime Snowboard and its accompanying line of outerwear. This partnership honors a legacy where the iconic band's music was the undeniable soundtrack to the era, often scoring some of the heaviest film parts of the early 2000s.
The DNA of a Daily Driver

The deck is based on the acclaimed CAPiTA Outerspace Living directional twin, featuring an All-Terrain Camber Profile. What matters here is the intent: it's a board designed to be playful yet powerful. It has the pop for the park and the stability for high-speed runs.
- Power and Grip: There is positive camber lying underfoot and extending past the inserts. This is where you get the pop, the stability, and the reliable edge hold needed for railing fast, high-speed carves on groomers.
- Forgiveness and Float: The nose and tail feature an elevated reverse camber. This makes the board incredibly forgiving if you're slightly off your axis when landing a spin, and crucially, it gives it enough float to “swim” through variable conditions and light powder.
This profile makes it the go-to choice for intermediate to advanced resort riders who crave performance without the punishing stiffness of a dedicated race board. It's stable enough to bomb a straight line into a massive kicker, yet playful enough for jibs and buttery ground tricks. As the Outerspace Living is often described, it’s a quiver-killer that will handle about 90% of your riding.
Style That Screams Volume
Beyond the tech, the Sublime board and the 686 apparel collection are dripping in the collaborative style. The board and the Sublime Shell Anorak and matching Shell Pants sport a retro tie-dye aesthetic with the iconic Sublime sun logo. The line also extends to beanies, buffs, and more—bringing the full vibe to the mountain.
This look is not just fashionable. It symbolizes the counter-culture roots of snowboarding. It’s an aggressive, confident aesthetic. A visual tribute to the music and style that helped define the scene—while still maintaining modern performance.

The Apparel (A Touch of Tech)
The 686 outerwear, built with 2-Layer infiDRY® 10K Fabric, is engineered to keep you locked in and dry. With 10,000MM waterproofing, this kit is ready for anything the resort throws your way. Thanks to this high level of protection, riders can stay focused solely on the line ahead.
Together, the collaboration is a perfect fusion: the cultural weight of Sublime, the high-performance commitment of CAPiTA, and the reliable protection of 686. The result is a kit that bridges the soul of the 90s shred scene with the demands of today’s mountain riding.
A Throwback to TGR's Roots
The name Sublime is instantly nostalgic for anyone who followed the action sports film scene in the 90s. This collaboration throws us right back to 1996 and the editing bay for our early film, The Continuum. Back then, we used Sublime's "Doin' Time" and "What I Got" to kick off the New Zealand segment—a section that perfectly encapsulated the high-energy, free-spirited vibe of early TGR. Today, the spirit of that iconic soundtrack lives on in the design and ethos of this new, all-terrain powerhouse.
