Four Hikers Airlifted Off Colorado’s Maroon Peak

Four hikers have been rescued after becoming "cliffed out" on Colorado's Maroon Peak, according to 
a press release from the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office. The two males and two females were from the Front Range, and were not injured, but were "tired, out of water, and sore."

The group spent the night on the mountain before being evacuated early the following morning by a Colorado National Guard helicopter and returned to the Maroon Bells parking area. The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office and Mountain Rescue Aspen are reminding would-be hikers to always be prepared with enough gear and provisions to stay the night and to be aware of proper route choices when descending from peaks.
