Things get a little weird in NW NJ and over by the Water Gap. Technically upstate? No. Spiritually? Well, it's got some Appalachia coursing through it. Paddle faster.

Bwah! Well, doesn't the AT go over High Point? I'd call that THE course through Appalachia.

That's where Glademaster is from. So I'll let you come to your own conclusions.

I'm pretty familiar with the zone between Sussex county NJ and NW PA up to the Catskills as it's prime motorcycle riding. IMO the vibe from Goshen/Middletown down to Sussex county is not very upstate, but once you cross 17 or get west of there, the upstate factor rises significantly. Port Jervis has an upstate vibe.

    Haha!! Well said.

It is a little different as it's not sure if it's exurban, rural, Pennsyltuckian, or Upstate. Middletown is kind of lacking an identity and Port Jervis is the meth capital of the zone so it has that. There's also some absolutely kickass mountain biking so it has the potential to break out.

I can picture this as some opening scene in a movie about upstate. Don't know why, it just seems appropriate.

FIFY Catskills are nowhere near NW PA- NE PA for sure.... But plenty of prime motorcycle riding in Upstate NY as NW PA also...

The southern Catskills along the 17/86 corridor butt right up against the Poconos along the Delaware River where it turns east.

But that is NW NJ and NORTH EAST PA- Not NW PA as originally posted (I corrected it) which is somewhere around Bradford or maybe a bit further to the east for Western PA... No Catskils as I stated anywhere close to Western PA.

Meh, eastern western, that would mean I need coffee earlier. I thought we were still talking about the tri-state zone with NJ.

I wonder if I can make it out there for this. Prime Upstate location with a premier Downstate band (and the illustrious and entertaining Keller Williams) https://www.facebook.com/15173644217...4685750882967/

I'm just talking about a place with blue tarp potential and you want to have your head on a swivel if you hear banjos.

I was in another zone today that isn't quite sure where it should be placed. That's where today's NYBOD is from. Had to get an older variety at my local beer store though because they only had pilsner, sours and IPAs ready to goClick image for larger version.

Nice. The guy who makes that beer once asked me to check if he had hobbits dancing on his chest or not.

Haha. You should invite him here, sounds like a good fit except that we're maggots, not hobbits. Tell him to can more porters for in house sales so I can get stuff that's less than a year old from local beer stores.

yeah. I agree but they’re catering to the masses’ desire for IPAs like everybody else. I’ve requested more stout a few times.

I feel bad posting this but it was observed in the upstate so I have to
