    Bond 25

My gut reaction to the trailer for No time To Die, the latest James Bond film is that it's clunky. There is no flow to it and it looks lackluster.

However, I am deeply invested in this cinematic franchise having seen every installment from For Your Eyes Only forward in the theaters.

Hopefully the film will be way better than the trailer.

With the reluctant star, directorial, script writer changes... if they make a decent movie it'll be a miracle.

Won't matter though it's still Bond. Dum dee dum dum, dum dum dum. Dum dee dum...

Ha, first for me was Diamonds are Forever - 1971. I'm sure I wasn't the only 9 year old kid who's lifelong admiration of redheads was fired by Jill St John.

I stand corrected. My first taste of James Bond was Moonraker in 1979 as an 11 y/o...

I thought this new movie was going to the Jane Bond. Did the producers decide being woke was bad business?

Valid points. In fact your mention of the phrase "reluctant star" totally nails one of the vibes I got from the trailer. Craig looks pissed off and disinterested in the trailer, almost as if he was being forced to act. And if the lead isn't invested in the project that will definitely show onscreen. Still, I am reluctantly in.

from the trailer, it's mostly action sets
(not sure how that's boring, but whatever)

ultimately these things were never all that tight cinematically, just fun rides & cool attitude...some held together better than others but none ever approached the threshold of art

Reluctant star? The trailer is reluctant writers stringing together the Craig era bond in what are now cliche.

i don’t think Craig ever really cared about bond which was why he was a good bond.

It’s boring because it’s all been done before.

A sassy woman who puts Bond in his place.
Bond comes back from the dead.
Another woman he sleeps with but can’t trust.

I do hope it’s good though.

Hopefully the Bond film makers have learned from other old male centric franchises that bringing maximum wokeness to the new movies is bad for business. Such as recent installments of Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Terminator. Maybe the Bond people are just dipping their toe in woke cesspool with "Jane" Bond. If she gets rave reviews then she will get her own movie. If not they'll find another guy for Bond 26.
