Summer Mag Gathering ‘23 - Almost Dead and Feeling Fine - Acadia, Maine

2nd Edition Almost Dead and Feeling Fine 2023

    Mags and partners…
Come East for a weekend of Camping, Music, Boating, Bicycling, Hiking, and BBQ at my home on Mount Desert Island, Maine the weekend of August 4-7, 2023.

I live surrounded by Acadia National Park with plenty of room for folks to come and stay on our property. It would be nice to see some of you again and also meet some of you for the first time! Come camp for the weekend.

JRAD happens to be playing nearby in Bangor, Maine (about an hour away) on August 6th. Hate Grateful Dead jam cover bands? Come on over anyway and enjoy some scenic Hiking, Bicycling on gravel carriage roads, Picnics on small offshore islands via powerboat, afternoon Sailing, or snoozing in Hammocks

Bring a tent or vehicle to camp in… Plan on swimming in a freshwater pond a short walk down the hill to bathe… Have a positive mental attitude… and let’s have a time!

Just grabbed the concert tix...have to go through Ticketmaster. Most of the folks I have talked to are doing the lawn.

Yes, unless we rent it to a young yoga instructor/ massage therapist/ climbing guide with a nice rack for the Summer season. The housing crunch here is real.

That sounds rad but those days I will be on a 10ish day backpack trip with my boys through NH.
Whatever we do, we will take care of our shoes.
Good one for rallying the cats, Singlecross.

I love the double entendre of "rack". A good selection of cams is a must.

Well played, Singlecross, sounds like a real fun time. I'll let diddy know I'll be unable to attend the hamptons this year... and hopefully see you on the maine coast instead!

biggins and I will be right next door in section 204 (seats were cheaper than lawns via a 3rd party vendor). Our thought was the same, hang with the crew, unless and until the rain starts, then find shelter inside.

Stopped by today to invite Fishman and Family to the shindig. He wasn’t there so I had a turkey sandwich. Maybe I’ll drop a postcard invite in the mail…

Mt Desert Island is a stunning place and singlecross is an excellent host. Bummed to not be thinking of going to this. Most years it would be a possibility as we head back east to visit family. And we really enjoyed our last visit. But not this year. Have fun ya'll. And I too am not really a jam band kind of guy, but this gathering sounds like a killer time. And those gravel roads are a blast.

    Bump back onto pg. 1.

This has the potential to be better than any of the Ullr-fests at Magic.
