That must have been one helluva long lift line wait.

I blame it on the Epic pass.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Dude goes missing at the end of February and the search teams just find him? Impressive persistence.

The mountains are as cold and lonely as they were 200 years ago. Do not ski arone.

Obviously the article is severely lacking in detail. One would assume there was an extensive search at the time. What was the weather at the time? When did they decide to search again, etc, etc.? Given that he was not reported missing until a week after his pass was scanned I'm sure the odds of finding him alive on the mountain were felt to be low. The paper just reprints the police press release, no one asks any questions.

Did any of you read the article. Vail was receiving (by vail standards) a lot of snow on the 28th through the 10th of march, when Vail learned he was missing. They continued to receive a lot of snow. At that point they only knew his rfid scans were the last time he was heard from, although there may have been other evidence that leaned toward him not leaving the resort.
There have been several searches. This was by far the largest involving at least 15 different organizations (mostly SAR groups from many counties).

Other than his relatives reporting him AWOL, guessing there were other signs, maybe his car in the parking garage/lot, didn't check out of his room, etc? Is this another argument for everyone wearing a beacon in bounds? Clearly his cell phone wasn't pinging his location because that's probably the first thing they tried to do when looking for him.
